Fitness is a Lifelong Journey

The story of Ultimate Fitness Games begins with Kevin Allen's drive to prove what's possible, no matter life's obstacles. Years ago, after amassing recognition as a successful amateur bodybuilder, Kevin found he was in such high demand for advice and guidance that it made sense for him to dedicate his life to helping others thrive. Trading his regular job for a new passion, he set out to transform strength training and community wellness, believing that real progress starts with believing in yourself - even when you are not sure you can. Since 1998, Kevin has worked alongside individuals from all walks of life, with a special focus on adults over 40 who crave time-efficient, realistic fitness solutions. His approach is built on meeting every client exactly where they are - no judgment, no matter how many stops and starts. By offering 30-minute personal training sessions that fit into the busiest schedules and by making use of technology for remote coaching, Kevin has helped hundreds regain their confidence and reach new goals. For Kevin, each success story is proof that every day holds an opportunity to challenge your limits.

Supporting You at Every Step

Life can be unpredictable, but perseverance shapes true strength. That lesson has guided Kevin's philosophy, both as a coach and a person. In his tenth year of faithfully battling stage 4 bone cancer, Kevin understands the ups and downs his clients face - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Not every day is easy, yet his unwavering mantra remains: GET BACK UP! This lived experience makes Kevin's coaching both empathetic and truly motivating. He knows what it means to feel uncertain, to fight against setbacks, and to celebrate every win, no matter how small. Instead of focusing on 'perfect beginnings' or intimidating routines, Kevin encourages clients to start with what they have, take one step at a time, and embrace setbacks as part of the process. Ultimate Fitness Games is a community, not just a training service. Kevin fosters accountability, kindness, and teamwork, offering a space where adults over 40 - and anyone determined to rebuild their strength - are understood and encouraged. Every client learns that resilience is not just a word here; it's a daily practice.

Kevin Allen

In 2016, Kevin Allen found himself in excruciating pain, barely able to walk. After numerous trips to the emergency room, surgery, and a staggering weight loss of 90 pounds, Kevin and his family knew something more serious was happening. That suspicion was confirmed when doctors at UCSF Medical Center diagnosed him with Stage 4 prostate cancer. The cancer had spread to his spine, hip, and lungs, propelling him into a battle that would include a 12-hour spinal surgery, failed chemotherapy, and 15 rounds of radiation.

Despite the enormity of his diagnosis, Kevin’s spirit remained unbroken. Through every treatment, his mantra, “Get Back Up,” carried him through the darkest days. “I made a decision to get back up right after surgery and have never looked back.”

Before his diagnosis, Kevin had built a distinguished career as a police officer, competitive bodybuilder, fitness club founder and personal trainer. His deep-rooted expertise in health and wellness gave him the strength and knowledge to fight for his recovery. It also laid the foundation for what would later become Living-Beyond Cancer—a deeply personal mission born from both his own battle and his immense gratitude for those who stood by him.

During his treatment, Kevin was deeply moved by the kindness and compassion of the oncology nurses, doctors, and family members who supported him. Their empathy was instrumental in his healing, and he resolved to give back to those who provide such vital care.

During his treatment, Kevin was profoundly moved by the empathy and dedication of the oncology nurses, doctors, and his family members, who supported him every step of the way. Their kindness played a critical role in his healing, and he resolved to give back to the caregivers whose compassion fuels the healing process for so many. He embraced his doctor’s words: “Swing for a home run and knock the cancer out of the park.”

Today, at 61, Kevin is still fighting cancer but doing so with incredible resolve. He channels his gratitude and experience into Living-Beyond Cancer, the non-profit he founded to support the physical and emotional well-being of caregivers. His goal is to ensure that these selfless individuals, who so often go unnoticed, receive the holistic care and support they need to continue their vital work with strength and resilience.

Kevin, a San Francisco native, now resides in Oakland with his wife, Daphany. He is the proud father of three children: Ashley Andrew, and Jackson.  With our pilot program, Kevin operates locally reaching all of UCSF’s oncology nurses/
